Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of life can be incredibly beneficial for anyone, especially if your career depends on creativity. I found this out first-hand when I took a vacation to Beaches Resort in Jamaica several years ago. It was the perfect environment for me to fully relax and write music away from the distractions of my daily life. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. The time away gave me the fuel I needed to create an arsenal of new songs that ultimately changed my music career forever.

But most importantly for me, the resort had no distractions - no noise and no chaos - which was key for me because I needed time away from everything to focus on writing music and coming up with ideas.

It was during this vacation that my brain went into overdrive with song ideas, something I hadn’t experienced in months due to writer's block. As a songwriter, having a catalog of songs ready for sync licensing is essential, and so having those ideas come at once while on vacation was like a gift from the heavens! With 10 restaurants offering different cuisines from around the world, there are plenty of options for everyone. From Caribbean-inspired jerk chicken dishes to fresh seafood, Italian, Japanese and other international flavors. You can get your fill of all types and flavors of food every day! Some dishes are even served right on the beach!! And yes, I did eat too much, gained a few pounds but so what! I enjoyed every meal because it was absolutely delicious!

For Me It Was An Unforgettable Experience

Not only did I come home feeling more refreshed than ever before, but also bursting with ideas for new music ready to be written down and shared with others. This vacation truly changed my life as a musician; it gave me back confidence in myself again that had been lacking due to writer’s block. Taking this break from reality gave me much needed space from everyday stressors so I could come back energized and focused on creating great music again!
